Body of Missing Port St. Lucie Man Victor Valdez Found in St. Lucie River in Suspected Suicide

Port St. Lucie authorities have identified a man whose body was found in the St. Lucie River last Friday. The Port St. Lucie Police Department stated that 41-year-old Victor Anthony Valdez, a resident of the area, was the individual recovered from the waterway. As reported by CBS12, early indicators point to the death being a suspected suicide.

Details surrounding the incident reveal that two men fishing near the Twin Bridges on SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard were the first to spot Valdez’s body. Despite attempts to quickly respond to the scene, the Port St. Lucie Police Marine Unit was not able to prevent the unfortunate outcome. Fishermen remained at the location to assist officers when they arrived to retrieve Valdez. CBS12 further noted a vehicle, a 2012 Audi A5 convertible belonging to the deceased, was found in the nearby Bridge Plaza parking lot.

According to the police department, Valdez had been reported missing since last Tuesday after leaving his home. His vehicle’s presence in the vicinity, alongside a goodbye note and burial instructions found within, prompted detectives to conclude that Valdez likely intended to take his own life. The discovery of these items was made just days before his body was located, as stated by WPBF 25 News…
