St. Lucie County has completed a water quality improvement project at Ancient Oaks Preserve, located along Oleander Avenue north of Midway Road. The project includes a new 1.7-acre wet pond with littoral shelves and native plants. This pond is designed to filter stormwater before it flows into the North Fork of the St. Lucie River.
