A fresh interpretation of the classic ‘A Christmas Carol’

FORT PIERCE ── The Pineapple Playhouse brings a fresh approach to the Charles Dickens’ classic, “A Christmas Carol” this month.

This adaptation by Michael Paller relies on the theatrical device of the play-within-the-play. Set on Christmas Eve in 19th-century London, Paller’s story unfolds in the home of the author Charles Dickens.

When his friends and family arrive at the house, eager for him to perform one of his stories for them, he refuses to work on the eve of the big day. If there is going to be a story, he tells his guests, each of them must take part in its telling…
