The Boys and Girls Club of Martin County uses the original Blue Bird Vision bus equipped with a Roush CleanTech propane fuel system. The propane school bus has been in daily operation since 2014.
“Our decision to invest in propane technology stemmed from our commitment to environmental responsibility and economic efficiency,” says David Jones, facility manager of Florida’s Boys and Girls Club of Martin County. “We purchased our first propane bus from Florida Transportation Systems (FTS) in 2014, and it has served as a critical component of our mission to provide after-school and summer programs for area youth.”
The 2012 model year bus, which first served as a demo bus for FTS, has accumulated 65,000 miles while maintaining performance. The Boys and Girls Club purchased a second Blue Bird Vision propane bus in 2015.
