FORT PIERCE — An ammonia leak occurred at the FreshCo packaging company located at 3586 Oleander Ave., in Fort Pierce at approximately 10:28 a.m.
The incident prompted an immediate response from St. Lucie County emergency crews, including a special operations team, who were able to contain the leak and remove any hazardous materials.
Upon the St. Lucie County Fire Department’s arrival, it was found that all employees had already been evacuated.
