JUPITER, Fla. (CBS12) — More than 80 dogs and puppies were rescued from a suspected dogfighting operation in North Florida by Furry Friends, a no-kill rescue organization based in Jupiter.
According to the non-profit, the rescue operation took place on Wednesday, where the dogs were found in dire conditions, many restrained on heavy chains and covered in scars, with only plastic barrels for shelter. Others were reportedly discovered trapped in filthy hutches, forced to stand in their own waste.
Furry Friends said that they teamed up with Humane World for Animals and local law enforcement to conduct the rescue, utilizing their two Hope on Wheels buses to safely transport each dog to a secure facility where they can begin the healing process…
