STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A new scam on the Treasure Coast residents should be on alert for.
That scam just left one Martin County woman out of thousands of dollars just two days after Christmas.
“The victim was contacted by telephone and instructed to go to the PNC Bank in Stuart and withdraw $10,000 as part of an alleged investigation into the bank,” said Flamur Zenelovic, the Stuart Police Chief.
The ironic part?
The scammer claimed to be an investigator with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)…
