FPUA suspending utility shutoffs until Monday

FORT PIERCE – Fort Pierce Utility Authority (FPUA) customers who were scheduled to have electric, gas, water or sewer services disconnected between Dec. 30 and Jan. 4 for non-payment of bills are getting a temporary reprieve.

FPUA says this week’s “very cold weather forecast” has prompted the utility to temporarily halt service disconnects until Monday, Jan. 5.

Weather forecasts are predicting daily low temperatures to dip into the 40s, not reaching 60 degrees until Sunday…
