A.C.T. Studio Theatre presents ‘Bus Stop’

STUART ── Set during a snowy night in 1955, “Bus Stop” tells the story of a bus full of travelers taking refuge in a diner in Kansas.

The motley cast of dreamers includes a brash cowboy, romantically pursuing a nightclub singer against her wishes, a cynical alcoholic ex-professor, a kindly ranch hand, and a bus driver who’s seen it all. There’s also the weathered diner owner, her naïve waitress, and the town’s sheriff who pops in to keep a close eye on things.

Written by the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright William Inge, the comedy/drama uses the forced togetherness of snowbound strangers to reveal vulnerabilities and spark fleeting romances…
