Suspected Bird Bandit Busted, Cookie the Conure Safely Returns Home Thanks to Stuart Police Detectives

Stuart, Florida’s law enforcement has made headway in a case surrounding the audacious theft of a pet conure named Cookie. According to the CBS12, the black-capped conure was pilfered from a Pet Supermarket in late November, and Stuart Police detectives have successfully nabbed a young suspect, just 18-years-old, responsible for the avian abduction.

The Stuart Police Department worked expediently, chasing down leads and collecting evidence that would ultimately piece together a solid case against the accused. In a sequence of events shared by WPBF, detectives referred the case to the detective bureau for further investigation, which swiftly led to the suspect’s arrest. This case marks yet another victory for the department, following the resolution of an unrelated yet similarly themed theft that saw a $2,900 Pomeranian returned to its owner just weeks prior…
