Women of Hope to tackle affordable housing crisis in Vero Beach meeting

VERO BEACH — Community advocates will gather next week to dive into the pressing issue of affordable housing, with a focus on treating it as a fundamental human right, during the second installment of the Women of Hope series.

The event, set for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at The Hope for Families Center, aims to spotlight the local housing shortage and barriers facing residents in Indian River County.

Meredith Egan, Chief Executive Officer of the Indian River County United Way, will lead the discussion. She will cover state and federal initiatives while helping participants craft an advocacy brief for legislators and pinpoint three key local policies to push forward…
