FDOT: Road work to close I-95 ramps in Jupiter, Gardens, West Palm

I-95 ramps whose lanes will close in Palm Beach County are:

Interstate 95 exits and entrances in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter will have closures during the second half of January, Florida transportation officials say.

Lanes will close periodically between Jan. 19 and Jan. 30 on I-95 ramps connecting Okeechobee Boulevard, PGA Boulevard and Indiantown Road, a representative for the Florida Department of Transportation said. The closures will happen between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. on some of those nights.

  • The northbound entrance from the eastbound side of Okeechobee Boulevard.
  • The northbound exit onto PGA Boulevard going west.
  • The northbound exit onto Indiantown Road going west.
  • The southbound exit onto Indiantown Road going east.

Road crews will repave these ramps’ roads and replace guardrails, FDOT said. The work is part of $1.2 million project to reduce crashes on these ramps.

Once the project is completed in the summer, FDOT says, the ramps will have “high friction” surfaces to make it harder for vehicles to slide in the rain. New LED street lights will also be installed. The PGA Boulevard exit will have a digital sign telling drivers how fast they are going…
