Indiantown Council approves Booker Park housing plan amid resident concerns

INDIANTOWN — The Indiantown Village Council voted unanimously Jan. 8 to approve a major site plan for a 71-home single-family development in Booker Park, backing the D.R. Horton proposal despite strong opposition from neighborhood residents who raised concerns about safety, traffic and infrastructure.

Before public comment began, Village Attorney Wade Vose outlined the legal constraints of the quasi-judicial hearing, stressing that the Council’s decision had to be based on “competent, substantial evidence” rather than speculation or opinion.
