MARTIN AND ST. LUCIE COUNTIES — As food insecurity continues to affect a growing number of local residents, a coalition of churches is forming across Martin and St. Lucie counties to respond to the increasing needs of the less fortunate.
The effort is being spearheaded by Greg Waid, founder of Our Community Table (OCT), through the organization’s Mobile Pantry Initiative, which is already operating in the region. The initiative brings churches together to coordinate outreach, resources and food distribution for families struggling with hunger.
