Indian River County honors VBMA

VERO BEACH — The Indian River Commission Commission here honored the founders and representatives of the Vero Beach Museum of Art on Jan. 27 with an official proclamation acknowledging the 40th anniversary of a hometown museum that’s earned national acclaim for its popular shows and exhibits.

District 2 Commissioner Joseph Flescher invited museum representatives in attendance that day to come to the podium as he prepared to read the proclamation into the record.

“As you’re aware, no civilization is complete without a museum, a library or a place that we can maintain and procure the art of a civilization,” he said. “We’re pleased and honored that you have had that benefit for many, many years. It’s with great pleasure that we present this, and we anticipate hearing some good things that are happening at the Vero Beach Museum.”…
