Catholic education celebrates 100 years in Fort Pierce

FORT PIERCE — Just 25 years after Fort Pierce became a city, St. Anastasia Catholic Church welcomed three Dominican nuns from Michigan to open a faith-based school here for 52 students.

Now, 100 years later, 590 students attend St. Anastasia Catholic School and waiting lists exist. From pre-kindergarten to grade 8, officials like to say “faith and earning continue to walk hand in hand.

“For 100 years, our school has formed young minds, souls and hearts, preparing generations of students to live as disciples of Christ–faithful, compassionate, and ready to serve the world around them,” says a message from parish leadership…
