Child Airlifted to Hospital After Golf Cart Accident in Hobe Sound, Injuries Less Severe Than Initially Feared

A child was hospitalized yesterday morning after an accident involving a golf cart in the residential area of Hobe Sound, located near the affluent Jupiter Island Club. Martin County Fire Rescue was dispatched around 8 a.m. to the 200 block of Gomez Road following reports of the child falling from the vehicle. According to CBS12 News, the child was treated by emergency responders at the scene before being airlifted to the hospital with what was believed to be serious injuries.

Initial reports had indicated the gravity of the situation, with concerns that the child may have sustained severe harm. However, a follow-up by Martin County Fire Rescue spokesperson Corry Pippin eased some of those fears. Pippin told WPBF that the child’s injuries were later revealed to be minor. It would appear that the situation, while still undoubtedly distressing for those involved, might not have been as perilous as first thought.
