City says Crabby’s closed owing Fort Pierce $215,000

FORT PIERCE — Fort Pierce city officials claimed Tuesday that Crabby’s Dockside closed its waterfront restaurant Sunday after defaulting on five months of lease payments with the city, and failing to reimburse three years of property taxes.

Commissioner Michael Broderick said the city had “horribly mismanaged” the commercial contract, leaving taxpayers holding the bag for $215,000 of unpaid bills and possible litigation over who owns the rights to any equity in the Marina Square property.
