Motorcyclist dead after colliding with work truck on U.S. 1 in Sebastian

SEBASTIAN — A 47-year-old Stuart man was killed Sunday after his motorcycle slammed into the back of a work truck partially parked in the southbound outside lane along U.S. 1. The truck’s emergency lights were activated and flashing before the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

“The driver of (the motorcycle) was weaving in and out of traffic and failed to observe (the truck) partially blocking the outside lane,” troopers said in a statement. “As a result, the front of (the motorcycle) collided with the rear of (the truck).”
