Misdemeanor DUI charge against Georgia woman from Port St. Lucie incident dropped

FORT PIERCE – A woman facing a misdemeanor DUI charge from last June where her husband who died after falling off a golf cart she was driving has had the charge dropped, her lawyer confirmed.

Cynthia Mackin, 62, of Greensboro, Georgia, was driving a golf cart at Southwest Astor Creek Parkway and Southwest Shinnecock Drive in Port St. Lucie on June 28 when her husband, Daniel Mackin, also of Greensboro, Georgia, lost his grip on the golf cart and fell on the sidewalk, striking his head, according to Port St. Lucie police reports.
