Man with knife accused of attacking, spitting in trooper’s face on Florida Turnpike

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla (CBS12) — A 29-year-old Port St. Lucie man is facing multiple felony charges after Florida Highway Patrol troopers say he walked along the Florida Turnpike with a knife, resisted arrest and attacked a trooper.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report, the incident happened around 10:40 a.m. on March 10 near mile marker 146 on the northbound side of Florida’s Turnpike in St. Lucie County.

Troopers were dispatched after reports of a man walking southbound on the paved shoulder in the northbound lanes. A trooper responding to the scene reported seeing the man walking north on the shoulder and observed a knife in his right hand…
