Hobe Sound man hospitalized after water incident

HOBE SOUND — A man was rescued from the Intracoastal Waterway in Hobe Sound after “launching himself” into the water from a private dock in an alleged suicide attempt on March 16.

According to Martin County Sheriff’s Office, around 4 a.m., the man got into a argument with his wife. His wife called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report an argument with her husband that lead to him leaving the house after alluding to suicide.

The man then drove to Hobe Sound and parked his car at the intersection of U.S. 1 and A1A. he went on foot to a house on Indian River Drive in Hobe Sound, more than a mile away…
