FL Firefighters Rescue Occupant, Five Dogs from Early Morning House Fire

Firefighters rescued a trapped occupant and five dogs from a house fire in Port St. Lucie, Sunday.

Crews responded around 1:50 a.m. after reports of smoke and a possible person calling for help inside the home, according to a St. Lucie County Fire District Facebook post.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke from the roofline and found all doors secured. Based on dispatch information and confirmation from Port St. Lucie Police that someone was inside, crews initiated a targeted search through a window while additional personnel forced entry, conducted a primary search, and launched an interior fire attack…
