FORT PIERCE — The Florida Remembered Society will present a program exploring the deep-rooted heritage of local cattle ranching families on Saturday, May 9, from noon to 4 p.m. at the St. Lucie (Village) School, 2501 Old Dixie Hwy.
The free public event will share stories of the labor, lifestyle and legacy of cattlemen and women who helped shape the Treasure Coast. Attendees can view photographs, tools, objects and other artifacts connected to the region’s ranching history.
The program is part of “Red, White, and FOOD,” a traveling exhibition that uses food traditions to tell the broader story of Florida’s people, lands and cultures. The exhibit features photographs, artifacts, recipes and historical objects and will be on display at the St. Lucie School through Dec. 6, 2026…
