County backs special exception for Vero Classical

VERO BEACH – The Indian River County Commission majority approved a special exception use May 5 so Vero Classical School can build a two-story facility south of Oslo Road near 58th Avenue Southwest despite the fact some area residents opposed the development of the old citrus grove land.

The current K-6 campus operates under the auspices of Tabernacle Ministries on Old Dixie Highway but has grown at such a rapid pace that founders Michael and Jamison Kelley have now set their sights on a 53-acre property at 58th Avenue and 13th Street Southwest to fulfill their K-12 vision.
