Portland police officer on leave after domestic violence arrest is back behind bars

PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland police officer arrested late last year on domestic violence charges is back behind bars after violating the terms of his pretrial release, the Portland Police Bureau said Wednesday.

According to the agency, they were notified on Monday that the Sherwood Police Department was investigating Officer Jimmy Pryce for “criminal conduct.” On Tuesday, Pryce turned himself in and was booked into the Washington County Jail for allegedly violating his release agreement.

Pryce was placed on paid administrative leave back in December after his off-duty arrest in Clackamas County. Court records show he was later indicted on charges of strangulation, two counts of fourth-degree assault, plus one count each of harassment and menacing.
