Multnomah County commissioners try to save jobs programs for homeless people … again

Programs aimed at helping homeless people in Multnomah County train for and get jobs are on the county’s list of proposed cuts for the second year in a row.

And once again, several commissioners have stepped forward to find the more than $4 million needed to save those programs.

Multnomah County will have about $90 million less to spend in the coming budget year, as county revenues have decreased and the cost of providing services has risen…
