There was, in fact, a little rain on Portland’s parade Saturday.
But it was only a sprinkle. Not enough to dampen the mood of crowds who lined the streets of downtown Portland on Saturday evening for the new combined CareOregon Grand Floral Starlight Parade.
“I’ve ridden the streets here a couple times, and I’m here to tell you, I like what I see,” said Jeremy Emerson, board president of the Rose Festival, as he pulled up to the start of the parade on an electric scooter, moments before the parade began. “There are a lot of people out there.”…
