SW Portland Shed Blaze Jumps To Home As Fire Crews Race In

Fire crews rushed into southwest Portland Monday evening after a shed fire started threatening a nearby house, according to city firefighters. Multiple companies were sent in on the initial assignment as crews worked to keep flames from spreading into the residence. On the way to the call, one engine crew ended up peeling off after coming across a separate rollover crash.

Portland Fire’s update

According to Portland Fire & Rescue, crews were dispatched to a shed fire in SW Portland that was “extending to a home.” Truck 10 and mutual-aid units from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue were among the companies that reported heavy fire conditions when they arrived.

Engine 16 diverted after rollover

Portland Fire & Rescue said Engine 16 “dropped off the call” after the crew encountered a rollover accident while heading to the structure fire. The bureau did not immediately say whether anyone was injured in the crash or in connection with the shed fire.
