PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The Portland Metro area’s homeless shelter systems are undergoing major changes as one nonprofit provider officially shuts down and the city restructures several shelter sites.
Sunstone Way, which operated more than 300 shelter beds across Multnomah and Clackamas counties, permanently closed Tuesday after announcing the decision in March. At the time, the nonprofit cited declining revenue and rising operating costs.
