Illegal tire dumping surges across Portland, leaving property owners with costly cleanup

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Illegal tire dumping has continued to prove a growing problem in both size and cost for a number of properties across Portland.

More people are reporting coming home or going to work to find dozens, sometimes hundreds of tires dumped on their properties. For some people, it has become a monthly or even weekly occurrence.

At the Continental Western Corporation warehouse in Northeast Portland, operations manager Trisha Proudfit told KATU they have put up signs, filed police reports, and have private security patrolling the area, but tires still show up out of nowhere. The latest incident was just this week…
