PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A dog and a tortoise were rescued by firefighters following a house fire in Sherwood on Sunday morning.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue said in a social media post that crews responded around 8:13 a.m. to a home in the 15300 block of Southwest Clifford Court after multiple callers reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the building.
Eight suspects charged in beach fire
The home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and they immediately began extinguishing it. They ultimately stopped the flames from spreading to neighboring homes.
Firefighters also rescued a dog from inside the home during the response. The dog wasn’t breathing at first but was resuscitated using a pet oxygen mask and taken to an emergency veterinary hospital. A tortoise was found under a trailer and taken to the vet…
