A year and a half of ping-ponging that involved the retirement or resignation of two city managers, the hiring of an interim city manager and stints by two acting city managers, Tigard has tapped its longtime public works director to help lead the city of almost 60,000 residents.
On Monday, July 6, the Tigard City Council said it has selected Brian Rager to oversee city departments and implement policies set by the council.
