Letters to the editor: A warning about coyotes and an ask for an apology from Lake Oswego theater

Warning about coyotes

I wish to inform the residents of Lake Oswego that coyotes are endangering our pets and their owners. Our small dog (11-pound Shitzu) was attacked (on a leash) while walking on Peters Road north of Westlake Park at 8:30 am on Sunday, June 28. I was able to remove our dog from the coyote and our dog has recovered. The veterinarian insisted I contact animal control of Clackamas County since any coyote that attacks a dog on a leash needs to be removed from the area. Since this event, I have been informed of three other incidents of coyotes attacking leashed pets. I no longer feel it safe to walk our dog for the first time in my 54 years of calling Lake Oswego my home.
