PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Nearly four weeks after a four-alarm fire tore through Centennial Mills, The Fields Park in Portland’s Pearl District remains closed as crews continue cleaning and safety work near the fire-damaged site.
The City of Portland said The Fields Park will stay closed “until further notice” because of ongoing safety concerns tied to the adjacent Centennial Mills building. The closure includes all areas of the park, including the off-leash dog area, playground, lawn and walking paths. Cleaning of the park is underway, but there is no confirmed reopening date.
