Abernethy Bridge construction causes major problems for West Linn residents

The West Linn City Council didn’t mince words with representatives from the Oregon Department of Transportation when it came to the nighttime construction of the Abernethy Bridge.

“I’ve been out there several nights around 11 or midnight, so I can tell you — the (peak noise) is about 95 decibels and the average is between 75 and 85. Would you want to live next to that?” asked City Councilor Kevin Bonnington during the Tuesday, Sept. 1work session.

At the meeting, ODOT provided an update on the progress and delays for the I-205 Abernethy Bridge improvement project at West Linn City Council and addressed concerns from local community members including noise and property damage.
