A visit to a popular Oregon pumpkin patch has resulted in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit, with a woman alleging she suffered severe injuries after falling on a muddy hillside near a zipline attraction during a fall festival, according to an OregonLive report. The lawsuit, filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court, seeks $2.2 million in damages from Red Berry Barn, a family-run farm attraction near Sherwood.
According to court records, Paige Jean Smith attended Red Berry Barn’s annual harvest festival on Oct. 20, 2024, with her child. The complaint alleges Smith accompanied the child to a raised zipline platform and later descended a steep dirt embankment after the ride began. The lawsuit contends the slope was muddy, slippery and unsafe for guests.
Smith claims she lost her footing while walking down the hillside and suffered multiple fractures to her tibia, fibula and ankle.
