Portland police made 87 traffic stops, arrested four people and recovered a stolen vehicle during a weekend enforcement operation targeting illegal street racing, street takeovers and other dangerous driving, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The Portland Police Bureau said officers conducted the special operation Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6, across the city. Officers focused on suspected illegal street racing, reckless driving, driving under the influence of intoxicants and other hazardous behavior.
Seven vehicles eluded officers during the operation. Police said one of those vehicles was estimated to be traveling at 150 mph.
