PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After a fire broke out at RingSide Steakhouse last year, the 80-year-old establishment was forced to close for four months.
Now, a new lawsuit filed by Middlesex Insurance Company, which covers RingSide Steakhouse, accuses a group of the restaurant’s service providers of causing the fire through negligence.

The complaint was filed Aug. 31 in Multnomah County Circuit Court and names Linda’s Janitorial Services, C&S Fire-Safe Services, Stainless Solutions, Sigma Mechanical and Sanderson Fire Protection as defendants.
The fire began at 1:45 p.m. on April 5, 2025 in the kitchen of the restaurant, according to the complaint. The gas line connecting from the building’s supply to the back of the range reportedly split due to the stove repeatedly being moved during routine cleanings. The split in the line caused natural gas to escape and ultimately ignite.

As a result of the fire, the insurance company said it paid out more than $3.4 million to RingSide for both necessary repairs as well as money lost during the months the restaurant was forced to close.
