Oregon student stuck in South Korea after incarceration, family says

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – It was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime, a chance for this 20-year-old ‘Oregon Institute of Technology’ student from Portland to study in South Korea. But now, his family says he can’t come home.

KOIN is not showing or naming the engineering student, but his mom, Iris Cox, says a mental health crisis led to his arrest.

“He’s in jail for theft and trespassing,” Cox said…
