Local farmers impacted by rising diesel prices

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KPTV) – At Hoffman Farms, rising diesel prices mean it’s getting more expensive to run equipment like trucks and tractors. As local farms work to cover the costs, consumers could ultimately be left paying higher prices.

“When you see open fields and drive up and down I-5 or country roads and see a big tractor driving… That farmer that’s in that tractor is directly impacted by the fuel prices,” said Jayson Hoffman, manager at Hoffman Farms.

From the trucks to the tractors, diesel is what keeps things moving at Hoffman Farms. But as the price of diesel continues to climb, Hoffman said farmers are already feeling the effects…
