PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Vancouver man has been convicted of fatally striking another with a bow and arrow.
Jurors found Richard Cole Vanderhoek guilty of second-degree murder on Wednesday, according to Clark County Superior Court records. He was originally arrested in connection to the death of David Collins Sr. in 2024.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office previously revealed that Vanderhoek, who was 46 years old at the time, called emergency responders to report that he had shot Collins Sr. around 6:45 a.m. on Apr. 2 of that year. Authorities said the 42-year-old man was lying dead in a driveway, with an arrow in his chest, when deputies arrived on the scene.
