Vancouver police say they arrested Djuan Black at a Vancouver apartment on September 17 after Spokane County issued a felony warrant for him. The warrant stemmed from an alleged Spokane pursuit in which Black was accused of discarding a gun and fleeing on foot. Police said a search of the apartment recovered two firearms, ammunition and suspected cocaine.
The Vancouver Police Department said its Crime Reduction Unit was contacted on September 16 by a detective with the Spokane Police Department’s Gun Crime Unit. The detective said Black was believed to be in Vancouver. Spokane County had issued a felony warrant for him, according to Vancouver police.
A Chase, an Abandoned Car and a Gun Tossed From a Window
Spokane police detectives had tried to stop Black’s vehicle, but he allegedly drove recklessly, evaded officers and left the car in a neighborhood before running away, according to the Vancouver Police Department’s account. Investigators later found a gun, magazine and bullets. The account also says video from a nearby business appeared to show Black throwing a gun from the vehicle.
The vehicle pursuit took place in Spokane on September 8.
