PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A storm worked its way through Eastern Oregon and Southwest Washington overnight, bringing gusty winds, downed trees, and power outages early Friday morning.
A Wind Advisory will be in place for the northern Willamette Valley through Friday evening. Until then, wind gusts could reach 45-50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

KOIN 6 Chief Meteorologist Josh Cozart said these are some of the strongest winds Portland has seen in recent months. He also said the storm could leave behind a half inch of rain for the Willamette Valley while coastal communities could see up to 1.25 inches by Saturday morning.
In the meantime, thousands are without power and roads are backed up in the greater Portland area due to fallen trees and downed power lines.
