Strong winds knock out power to thousands across NW Oregon, SW Washington

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Thousands of people woke up without power after strong winds hit northwest Oregon and southwest Washington overnight.

The FOX 12 Weather team issued a First Alert Weather Day for Friday morning due to a system that would bring steady rain and strong wind to much of the region.

A wind advisory remains in effect until about 11 a.m.
