PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A team of researchers at Washington State University have created a drug treatment showing “rapid effectiveness” for treating endometriosis, the university announced Monday.
According to WSU, the treatment lays the foundation for a possible therapy for the incurable disease, which impacts 1-in-10 women.
Endometriosis is a debilitating disease affecting about 190 million women around the world, WSU said, noting the disease causes lesions similar to tissue inside the uterus to grow outside of the uterus.
