PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The Evergreen School District in Vancouver is considering a plan to close six of its schools due to a continued decline in enrollment and inadequate funding.
Just two years ago, the Evergreen board approved nearly $19 million in budget cuts, which eliminated more than 150 positions.
Faced with another budget gap, the board approved a resolution in March allowing Superintendent Dr. Christine Moloney to make $14 million in budget cuts.
