ORCHARDS, Wash. (KPTV) — A 48-year-old man faces multiple charges after a standoff with law enforcement in Clark County on Monday, officials said.
Deputies arrested Aaron Hetland following an incident that began around 2:30 p.m. in the Orchards neighborhood near the 11200 block of Northeast 107th Street. According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to investigate property damage inside a home where Hetland lives with his mother. Hetland drove away before deputies arrived.
About an hour and 15 minutes later, Hetland’s mother called 911 to report that he had come back. When deputies arrived and tried to pull him over, Hetland drove into the driveway. He refused orders to get out of the car, hit the garage door with the car, and backed out to drive away from deputies.
Just after 5 p.m., deputies spotted Hetland driving along Northeast 99th Street. They used a grappler device near the 10500 block to stop the car and surrounded it. Deputies saw Hetland inside injuring himself with a knife…
