2 Portland eateries join The New York Times’ list of where to eat throughout the city

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two Portland restaurants joined The New York Times’ guide for dining throughout the city.

The daily newspaper’s Where to Eat Right Now series names its top eateries in major metros such as Chicago, Miami and Philadelphia. The Portland edition now includes OK Chicken and Khao Soi and The Paper Bridge.

Located on 3226 SE Division St., OK Chicken and Khao Soi is no stranger to The New York Times. The publication highlighted the Northern Thai spot on its list of the top 50 restaurants in the U.S. earlier in September.

“The eponymous dishes are musts,” the Times said of OK Chicken. “The gai yang chicken, marinated in fish sauce and makwan pepper, has a tingling chargrilled funk. And the kao soi is a just-one-more-bite version of that hallmark Chiang Mai soup. The beef version has an especially magnetic unctuousness perfectly accented with a generous squeeze of lime.”…
