Fatal crash leaves 1 dead in NE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A fatal crash in northeast Portland has closed off a section of road in the area Tuesday evening, Portland Police Bureau announced.

Police say they responded to reports of a crash near NE 65th Ave. and Ne Sandy Blvd at roughly 5:43 p.m. Once on the scene, officers saw a crash involving one vehicle and one pedestrian.

“Unfortunately, the pedestrian, an adult female, was deceased,” PPB said in a release. “The driver remained at the scene.”

PPS to relocate students from storm-damaged schools

As of 7:20 p.m., the crash is still being investigated on the scene by PPB’s Major Crash Team. The stretch of NE Sandy Blvd will remain closed between NE 65th Ave. and NE 66th Ave. while the investigation continues, police said.
